Divya Chauhan Rank 14 UKPSC Lower PCS 2024: Supply Inspector

The UKPSC Lower PCS 2024 result carried a special story from Haridwar. Divya Chauhan Rank 14 UKPSC Lower PCS 2024 secured the post of Supply Inspector in her third attempt. Moreover, she did it while handling her duties as a mother.

Once, a topper’s interview inspired her to start. Now, her own success talk with SAMVEG IAS can inspire others. So, here are the key lessons from her journey.

Major Highlights of Divya Chauhan’s Interview with Samveg IAS

From Engineer to Aspirant

Divya belongs to Bongla village in Haridwar district. First, she completed her B.Tech in Electronics and Communication in 2010. Then, she did her M.Tech in VLSI Design in 2014. However, after marriage and the birth of her son, she could not continue her job.

Later, during COVID, she watched an interview of IAS topper Anu Kumari. Her son was sitting beside her. Suddenly, he said, “Mummy, you can become this too.” Then, Divya realised that Anu Kumari also had a son and a technical background. So, she felt motivated and began studying. Since then, she has stayed on this path.

Balancing Family and Preparation

Married aspirants face many problems, she says. Above all, time management is hard. After all, there is housework, the child’s studies and many other duties.

Still, she advises women never to fear their responsibilities. “Everyone has their own dreams, and we should live for them,” she says. Therefore, keep patience and work steadily. “Success comes to everyone one day. I am an example of it,” she adds.

Prelims Strategy of Divya Chauhan Rank 14 UKPSC Lower PCS 2024

She began with the basics, as most aspirants suggest. First, she watched YouTube videos on NCERT books from Class 6 to 12. Then, she made her own notes from them. As a result, her basics became clear. Also, see our UKPSC Lower PCS exam guide for the full exam pattern.

Mains: Syllabus-Based Notes

Divya takes three or four printouts of the syllabus. First, she reads the whole syllabus and marks every keyword. According to her, knowing the syllabus well completes half your preparation.

She keeps her notes short, so she can revise them more often. In fact, her rule is simple: limited sources and maximum revision. After missing selection in 2021, she changed her approach a little. Thereafter, she took more help from YouTube and ChatGPT for her notes.

Answer Writing Approach

Beginners often hesitate to write answers. At first, one answer may take 20 to 30 minutes. Still, she insists that you must write. Gradually, your timing improves on its own.

Interview Preparation

For the interview, she joined the Samveg IAS guidance programme. In her view, the classes covered almost all the topics. So, she did not go far beyond them. Instead, she made small notes on those topics, as notes are her habit. Also, she read the newspaper for two to three months.

Handling Setbacks with Patience

Setbacks came two or three times over her three attempts. However, her well-wishers kept believing in her. For example, her mother and her brother-in-law always told her, “You can do it.”

Besides, motherhood taught her patience. That patience, she says, gave her direction and kept her going.

Her Advice: Failures Are Feedback

“Never fear your failures,” says Divya Chauhan Rank 14 UKPSC Lower PCS 2024. Failures are a part of every journey. So, do not treat them as the end. Instead, use them as feedback. Also, she lives by Swami Vivekananda’s words: “Arise, awake, and stop not till the goal is reached.”

Association with SAMVEG IAS

Divya joined SAMVEG IAS in 2022. She took our Mains Guidance Programme (MGP) and Interview Guidance Programme (IGP). Honestly, she feels she joined a little late. According to her, the classes and test series helped her find and fix many mistakes in mains. Also, when she missed selection last time, Sir kept showing faith in her. Still, this result is the fruit of her own patience. Indeed, Divya Chauhan Rank 14 UKPSC Lower PCS 2024 shows how the inspired can become an inspiration.
