GoI constitutes the ‘High-Level Committee on Demographic Change’
The Government of India officially constituted the ‘High-Level Committee on Demographic Change’. This major development follows Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s announcement of a “High-powered Demography Mission” in 2025. The Union Cabinet approved the proposal soon after.
According to an official Press Information Bureau (PIB) release, the panel will address challenges from abnormal population shifts. This topic holds immense value for civil services aspirants preparing for UPSC Civil Services Examination (GS Paper II and GS Paper III).
Composition of the High-Level Committee
The Ministry of Home Affairs set up the panel with top administrative and security experts.
