The Ministry of Women and Child Development has launched the PANKHUDI portal. Union Minister Annpurna Devi launched it in New Delhi on 8 January 2026. Notably, it is a single-window digital platform for partnerships. Also, it lets individuals, NRIs, NGOs, institutions and companies support women and children. So, it aims to bring transparency, accountability and traceability to such support.
What the Portal Offers
The ministry calls PANKHUDI an Integrated Digital Portal. Through it, stakeholders can take part in a structured way. For example, companies can route their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) support. Also, the portal accepts contributions only through non-cash methods. Hence, every contribution leaves a digital trail.
Areas Covered
The portal covers five thematic areas. These include nutrition, health, early childhood care and education, and child welfare. In addition, it covers women’s safety and empowerment. Moreover, it links support to the ministry’s flagship missions. These are Mission Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0, Mission Vatsalya and Mission Shakti.
Scale of Institutions
Support through the portal can reach a large network. For example, India has over 14 lakh Anganwadi centres. Also, it has about 5,000 child care institutions. Further, nearly 800 One Stop Centres help women facing violence. So, the portal can improve infrastructure and services across these centres.
About the WCD Ministry’s Missions
Mission Shakti covers the safety, security and empowerment of women. Meanwhile, Mission Vatsalya deals with child protection and welfare. Also, Mission Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0 focus on nutrition and early childhood care. Notably, Section 135 of the Companies Act, 2013 makes CSR mandatory for eligible companies.
