PV Sindhu wins the Japan Open 2026 badminton title

PV Sindhu has scripted history in badminton. She became the first Indian to win the Japan Open title. Notably, she won the women’s singles final on Sunday, 19 July 2026. Moreover, she beat reigning world champion Akane Yamaguchi of Japan.

How the Final Went

Sindhu won the final in straight games, 21-17, 21-17. In fact, she needed just 50 minutes. Also, she played with the attacking style of her best years. Thus, fans saw a return of the old Sindhu.
