The Uttarakhand Public Service Commission (UKPSC) has introduced a new objection module for its recruitment exams. Notably, candidates can now raise objections twice. First, they can object to the question paper itself. Then, they can object to the answer key. Moreover, the Commission will declare results only after settling both rounds.
How the New Objection Module Works
The process now has two stages:
- Stage 1: After the exam, the Commission will invite objections on the questions.
- Stage 2: After that, it will release the answer key and invite objections again.
- Result: Finally, experts will review all objections before the result.
Also, candidates must submit objections only through the online mode. Furthermore, they must pay a fee of ₹50 per question.
Why the Change Matters
Errors in questions or answer keys can affect thousands of candidates. In the past, such errors led to disputes and court cases. Therefore, a two-stage system gives candidates a fair chance to flag mistakes. As a result, results should become more accurate. Also, fewer legal disputes may delay recruitment.
Role of Subject Experts
Subject experts will examine each objection. Then, the Commission will act on their advice. Consequently, wrong questions may be removed or answers corrected. UKPSC Secretary Ashok Kumar Pandey said the module will make the process more transparent.
Which Exams Are Covered
The new module will apply to upcoming recruitment exams of the Commission. For example, it will cover exams such as the lecturer and other subordinate service exams. Also, aspirants of the Upper PCS 2026 can expect a similar process.
Tips for Aspirants
- Note your answers carefully during the exam.
- Check the official question paper and answer key promptly.
- Back each objection with standard sources.
- Submit objections before the deadline.
