Uttarakhand has announced a packed adventure calendar for late 2026. First, the Adi Kailash Parikrama 2.0 will take place in Pithoragarh from 24 to 26 October 2026. Next, the fifth Ultimate Uttarakhand MTB Challenge will follow in November. In addition, the state will host a Himalayan Car Rally. Clearly, the Tourism Department wants to put Uttarakhand on the global adventure map.
Adi Kailash Parikrama 2.0 will be held in Pithoragarh district from 24 to 26 October 2026.
Adi Kailash Parikrama 2.0
The Adi Kailash Parikrama 2.0 will run in Pithoragarh district. Adi Kailash lies in the Vyas Valley near the India–China–Nepal tri-junction. Also, the sacred Parvati Kund and Jolingkong area lie close to the peak. Notably, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Parvati Kund in October 2023. Since then, interest in this remote region has grown sharply.
Ultimate Uttarakhand MTB Challenge
After the parikrama, the fifth Ultimate Uttarakhand MTB Challenge will take place. It will run from 20 to 26 November 2026. Moreover, riders will cover a route of nearly 700 km. The route will stretch from Mukteshwar to Mussoorie. Thus, riders will cross both Kumaon and Garhwal on mountain bikes.
Himalayan Car Rally Returns
Similarly, the Himalayan Car Rally will run from 19 to 21 November 2026. According to the Tourism Department, this event marks the first step towards a bigger revival. In fact, it aims to bring back the “Ultimate Himalayan Car Rally”. That rally was very popular during the 1980s and 1990s.
Building an Adventure Tourism Hub
Meanwhile, the state plans to combine many outdoor activities into its tourism offer. These include mountaineering, trekking, mountain biking and motor adventures. As a result, tourists may stay longer and spend more locally. Furthermore, remote border villages could gain new income from such events.
