CM Dhami Launches Revenue Lok Adalat at 210 Places in All 13 Districts

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami launched the statewide Revenue Lok Adalat on 28 March 2026. He joined through video conferencing from Dehradun. Notably, the Lok Adalat sat at 210 places across all 13 districts at the same time. Together, these sittings took up about 6,933 cases. The Information and Public Relations Department (DIPR) shared the details. Hence, the move furthers the ‘Nyay Aapke Dwar’ campaign.

Over 50,000 Cases Pending

Uttarakhand has more than 400 revenue courts. Together, they carry over 50,000 pending cases. Moreover, citizens can now file cases from home on the ‘Revenue Court Case Management System’ portal.

How Revenue Courts Are Organised

Revenue courts work at four levels in the state. At the top, the Revenue Council works at the state level. Next, Commissioner courts function at the division level. Then, Collector courts sit at the district level. Finally, SDM, Tehsildar and Naib Tehsildar courts work at the tehsil level.

Cases Taken Up

Land disputes got top priority at the Lok Adalat. In addition, it took up excise, food and stamp cases. It also heard matters under the SARFAESI Act, Goonda Act, CrPC and Electricity Act. Likewise, Senior Citizens Act and Rent Control Act cases came up.

Dhami’s Directions on Mutation and Land Disputes

Dhami gave the mantra of ‘Saralikaran, Samadhan, Nistarikaran evam Santushti’. It means simplification, resolution, disposal and satisfaction. Moreover, he asked officials to finish mutation in undisputed inheritance cases on time. Ideally, families should get the new khatauni by the thirteenth-day ritual. Further, he set a one-month limit for land measurement and possession disputes. Meanwhile, Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan gave DMs the same one-month target for pending cases.

About Lok Adalats

Generally, Lok Adalats settle disputes through compromise instead of long trials. The Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987 gives them statutory status. So, this drive brings the same spirit to revenue courts.
