What the trend shows
- The general cut-off moved between about 87 and 94 out of 150 in the last three exams.
- However, reserved-category cut-offs rose sharply in 2025. For instance, the SC cut-off went from 76.8420 (2024) to 88.2849 (2025).
- In 2025, the OBC cut-off equalled the UR cut-off, so OBC candidates should not plan on a lower bar.
- Finally, the Uttarakhand female category stayed about 3 to 6 marks below UR in 2024 and 2025.
What score to aim for in Prelims 2026
With negative marking of one-fourth, accuracy matters as much as attempts. For example, 115 attempts with 90 correct gives 90 − (25 × 0.25) = 83.75. On the other hand, 105 attempts with 92 correct gives 92 − (13 × 0.25) = 88.75. Therefore, aim for 95+ with accuracy above 85%, and keep CSAT safely above 33%.
Mains and final selection
UKPSC does not publish a separate cut-off for Mains. Instead, the final merit is drawn from Mains (1,500) and Interview (150) marks, out of 1,650. Remember that General Hindi needs at least 35%. For category-wise minimum marks, check the advertisement of your exam year.
