Viksit Uttarakhand Vision 2047: District Plans by December 2026

A high-level brainstorming meeting on Viksit Uttarakhand Vision 2047 took place in Dehradun. It was held at the Civil Services Institute on Rajpur Road. Notably, officials said the state’s Vision 2047 is almost ready. Next, every district will prepare its own Vision 2047 action plan by December 2026.

Principal Secretary (Forest) R K Sudhanshu opened the meeting. He said the state vision document is nearly complete. Also, he explained the next step of district-level plans. The meeting discussed strategies for the state’s main growth drivers:

  • Horticulture: Fruits, vegetables and high-value crops of the hills
  • Tourism: Religious, adventure, wellness and nature tourism
  • Micro and small industries: Local enterprises and rural jobs

Women and Inclusive Growth

The meeting gave special focus to inclusive development. In particular, it called for more women in the workforce. To achieve this, it suggested promoting STEM education among girls from an early age. Thus, women can access better jobs in future.

Need for Quality Data

Officials also stressed the role of good data. For example, every target needs reliable indicators to track progress. Therefore, the meeting called for a centralised data system. In addition, it urged stronger data systems at every level.
